About the role

THE OPPORTUNITY

The best people do not always fit neatly into an open requisition. If you are convinced you can create unusual value at Hedge, tell us what you should own, why it matters now, and what evidence says you can do it.

COMPENSATION AND OWNERSHIP

For the kinds of founding roles we most often create through this path, base salary is $125K-$250K and equity is 0.25%-1.50%. The actual package will depend on the role, seniority, and scope we define together.

WHAT TO SEND

The problem at Hedge you believe you should own

What you would accomplish in your first 90 days

Evidence of exceptional work, judgment, speed, or persistence

The role, compensation, and working arrangement you think make sense

A resume, portfolio, work sample, or other proof that helps us understand your ability

THE CELL-NUMBER CHALLENGE

If you can find Luke's cell number, send a concise text explaining the specific problem you would solve at Hedge. Respectful initiative gets noticed. Generic pitches do not. Please do not repeatedly call or message.

WHO THRIVES HERE

You are unusually resourceful, direct, and accountable. You see important work before it becomes a formal job description and can explain your thesis without exaggeration.

WHY HEDGE

Hedge is building the operating system for commercial insurance distribution. You will work directly with the founders and have room to shape a role around real company needs. We offer health benefits and meaningful equity.

WORK MODEL

Most founding roles are based in San Francisco and work in person with the team. If a different arrangement is essential to your thesis, make the case clearly.

INTERVIEW PROCESS

Review of your proposal and evidence

Focused introductory conversation

Deep dive into the problem you want to own

Practical working session

Final conversation with the founders

Hedge is an equal opportunity employer. We evaluate candidates based on ability, judgment, and potential, and we do not discriminate based on protected characteristics.
